So there's a project called "100 days", which means dedicating the time to do something each day for a hundred days (usually artistic). And I've been illustrating a character of mine called "The VSG" - some images of which, I'll post here. :)
Some of you may recognise it as the little chap from my Weurdle Waucrack drawings - in truth, Weurdle Waucrack is just another branch to what it gets up to in its spare time... ;D  Hope you like them.

Next thing I know, several months have snuck by! How can something of such reasonable size be so stealthy?
Recent activities involved partaking in a weekend workshop on digital illustration. I can definitly see the difference it has made between my previous attempt at digital painting, and the new one. Less lumpy for starters!
Next week I look forward to trying my hand at sculpting - lordy knows how I'll fare, but if I deem it a worthy attempt, will post that here too.

Alright, the month's challenge is over, so going to shift some of the pieces about and delete the scrappiest :)
I've been good at persisting with the doing something daily, since then, so let's see if I can stick to it, eh? :D

28 days gone, two more left to go, and then I will have completed my task to do some drawing/painting wotnots, every day this month!
And then I'll go and clean out the Scrapbook section, as it's probably fuller than my Gallery now!
What have I gotten out of the exercise?
Well, if the last time was discovering how much I liked dip-pen and ink, this time was a lot about trying to get to grips with painting "digitally".

And now... SLEEP. It's hideously early in my morning.

First image added, for my personal "NaDraDaMo" challenge. Will be stashing them in the scrapbook area of my gallery, as some will definitly be scrappy!
Go me.
And go you, too!

I hope to try and add a drawing per day to the scrapbook region, and then cull them at the end of the month.

October has been greatly full and busy for me with many activities (not much of which involved a pencil, but stimulating nonetheless!)
And as November is here, I recall so too is "National Novel Writing Month" - which is not my ball really, so a couple of years ago I made another to play with!
Simple premise really. All I have to do, is draw a little something daily. A doodle, a piece of art that progresses in stages, a small comic character, a light sketch, a heavy drawing  (and yes, painting applies too! We'll call it "drawing with a brush" ;) )

As November has only just started for me, I imagine the majority of you are still finishing up Halloween.
Grab some paper and have a go - you'll have surprised yourself with the things you might find you've drawn by the end of the month!

Here is an entry of peace and quiet,
I've not done much, but that's alright!

I typed so much that I lost it when dA logged me out. Stink!
Recap:
I have a whole week all to myself! My current work contract is O. V. E. R. OVER!
I have weird luck.
The flat is winning the war on making-place-untidy.
Rollovers are fun - when I can get them to work! ( www.drawingformonkeys.com)
Working on an orcish twistaplot. If I get more written, I may post a link. They're fiendishly hard to keep track of!
The local french delicatessen is awesomesauce. And their soups are back! Hooray!
I was a bridesmaid inabsentia for a good buddy who just got married. (she lives in Cananananananada) The notice was too short!
Crazy mad girl. She must be a friend of mine. ;)
A virus wiped out the monarch caterpillar population at my place. Much sadness.
I have awesome friends. Much happiness.
My head aches! Much tiredness.
ROCK!

Because I should replace the older journal entry?
Not much to report, that I am comfortable being in depth about - the past two months have featured birth, death, birthdays, and a wedding. I feel like the "personals" column of a newspaper...
I did pick up a liking for the band Muse somewhere, too. They remind me of Queen.

Some folk attempt to write a novel this month, I'm told. ;)  However, this is the month where I draw a Little Something Daily instead. It's not likely to make it into my Dev'Art pages as it's more about the exercise than the result. But ya never can tell, right? :D

There be insects about. Shepherded a weta from the flat the other day. The slug squadron appears to have momentarily abated. Monarch Caterpillars are devouring my rather weedy looking swan-plants. Hooray!

Been reading a lot too. Mostly crime novels, it seems.
It's like cake, without the weightgain! I devour on average half a book a night. (the whole book if I'm really baaaad.)

By the way. Rules for "Little Something Daily"  -  pick up a pen or pencil, and draw/doodle/scratch/scribble something. It might take one minute, 15 minutes, half an hour... etc.
It's not about being perfect either. It's about doing. (And, it can be a lot quicker than 2500 words a day ;D )  Gogogo.

Also, thankyou, o givers of Llamanation!
I feel like one of the Llamanati now...

Eh, well another couple of months have passed. How time does make with the flappy flappy...
I have bought a scanner - and about fecking time!
Currently on the imagination station, is the mulling over Troll versions of werewolves, and possibly that shall be followed by orc versions. There's one in my scrapbook at the moment. It sprang from the "if the traditional human-based werewolves look the way they do, what if a werewolf was formed from an infected troll?"

I'm calling it a Torg. (Troll, worg.)  The orcish version shall be named a Worc, as a guildie helpfully suggested!

Dundundundun.
Well the month has arrived so I figure a little dramatic entrance might be in order...
I'm going to try the same exercise I did in November last year, of drawing a little something daily. I fully expect some of the stuff to be absolute tosh! It's not about trying to achieve any perfection though, it's simply to make me draw.
Last time I tried this exercise, I found I really enjoyed dip-pen and ink, over light pencil.
My first sketch has been in paying attention to the limbs of a butterfly, seeing as I have some "live models" perched about the place! ;D  *peers close*
Wish me luck.

... have passed between the last entry and this one!
I'm a bit boring really - I have no stamina for the LJ's, the twitters, the facebooks, etc etc. Instead I keep returning to my old blogger blog (animbus) and even that one has its fair share of monthly moments!

Hanging out for the current slew of work to finish so I can get a break. (effects work. Gragh.) Want to draw more, compute less. I wave at you from behind computer screens until such a time as I get back to pencil fun! Want to practise more of that pen & ink stuff that I was having fun with in November. Yus. *nodnod*

On the bright side - more monarch caterpillars invade my living space; I've recently purchased a signed print of "U.S." by the amazing Alex Ross; and I'm going to crawl into bed now which is bloody fantastic. ;D

Being the month of November, it's NaNoWriMo season for those who partake in such, and although there are stories I should like to tell, I'm not quite up to that particular challenge just yet!
So instead I decided to make up an alternative challenge for myself, and called it National Drawing Daily Month instead... ;)
It involves, basically, doing one drawing a day. Doesn't have to be brilliant, just has to be "something". (Metheglin is my livejournal name, where all have been posted thus far.)
I've managed to progress from pencils toward pencils and pen-and-ink, and along the way have been happy enough with some, to put them on here as well.
